Join our Team and Help Kids like Abby!
Abby was always a happy and loving child. No matter what the situation, she was always friendly, waving hi to everyone and giving the warmest hugs. She was born a fighter! Abby was diagnoses with Down Syndrome and a hole in her heart. But her biggest battle came at age 7 when she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. For almost 6 years she under went biopsies, numerous chemotherapy, and even stem cell trials. Went in remission 3 times. Each time she fought stronger. Her battle ended in July of 2015 when the cancer spread to her liver. She lived longer than her doctors even expected. Proves she was one of the worlds strongest human beings.
It has been a rough time, but every time we remember our Abby, we remember the happy times we shared and her strength through her whole life. We are forever grateful and thankful for everything Rady Childrens and the Peckham Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders did for our Abby and to support our family through this rough time.
We are also thankful for the many donors and sponsors who support the psycho/social programs that are funded in part by the , These programs bring great comfort and hope at a low point in patients’ and families’ lives.
