“Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states.”
Movement is fundamental to a healthy childhood. Young children learn and grow through their ability to move and play. Movement and physicality are at the core of how adolescents and teens define themselves and their emerging identities. A strong and healthy musculoskeletal system is the foundation of a strong and healthy body for active and engaged kids. Through a child’s formative years, movement and play attribute greatly to how a child learns and interacts with their surroundings, building towards a healthy, engaged and productive adulthood. Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego Division of Orthopedics and Scoliosis understands the importance movement has on the health and wellbeing of a child, allowing them to be their fullest and most true selves.
This is the focus of everyone at Rady Children’s Division of Orthopedics and Scoliosis. Orthopedics is one of the most widely used specialties at Rady Children’s, serving close to 70,000 families a year, which includes children with minor sports injuries to those needing lifelong care for birth defects and movement disorders such as spina bifida, scoliosis and cerebral palsy.
Rady's team of experts is recognized nationally for their skilled approach to treating pediatric orthopedic conditions which limit the ability for children to experience their full range of motion and is consistently looking for better ways to care for patients, which will allow them the highest quality of life and best possible outcomes. This is why Rady Children’s continues to be a destination for pioneering, comprehensive orthopedic care.
Thank you for joining Team Bones! Together we will support a future filled with movement and play for all children.
